Who We Are

A group of concerned Hindus

Our goal is to retrieve the temples from the clutches of a so-called 'secular' government, restore their sanctity, and once again make temples the center of our life and culture — as intended by generations of our forefathers over many centuries.

Our Strategy

Expose, confront, restore

Our strategy is to expose the mismanagement and desecration of temples by a 'secular' Government, and to confront them by legal means.

We intend to help restore the management of temples and their properties to the local communities. We provide them with sastric, agamic and historical research and information on individual temples — so that they can be preserved and passed on to posterity.

Legal Cases

In the courts

Sri Sabhanayagar Temple, Chidambaram

Decades of litigation, culminating in the Supreme Court quashing the appointment of an Executive Officer for the temple in 2014.

Sri Subramania Swamy Temple, Thiruchendur

Pursuing accountability for the management and properties of one of the oldest Murugan temples on the eastern coast.

The Pattern

Transgressions and vandalism

By the TN HR&CE Department

  • Offices of the department inside the temple, with airconditioners
  • Stalls selling so-called prasādam
  • Selling of archanai chits
  • Disfiguration of temple premises
  • No accounts of the temple's movable and immovable properties
From the bench

A Madras High Court Judge on HR&CE conduct (2009)

“The appellant never maintained any accounts in respect of 400 acres of lands, or in respect of gold, silver, hundi offerings, donations of cash, lands and other movable and immovable property — for ages.”

“The appellant never realised the income due to the temple. Even huge offerings made to the God by the worshippers have not been accounted for.”

“Missing of gold jewels were alarming.”
